Pacquiao...in Congress?
My fiance is a huge Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao, the famous Filipino boxer fan.
I salute this man because he has brought fame to my homeland by winning most of his boxing matches. Yet, when I heard the news that he is running for Congress, my respect for him turned into disdain. I am sure many will agree with me that he is just not built for politics. I wonder why he desires so much to dip his hands in the dirt of politics? He, who is at the peak of his career, he, who is continuously reaping success in boxing. Yes, maybe he wants to serve his country, to make a difference, but not this way...
Celebrity politicians seems to be the trend these days in the Philippines. I am strongly against this, not because they are not capable, but because most of them are just using Politics as a playground. And that is not fair to the masses. Politics in the Philippines is turning into a joke, and we, the people are becoming the laughingstock of the world...

Storm Within Us

The wind has died down.
The blowing snow has tapered off.
The blanket of ice on the ground is finally melting away.
The city is basking under the warmth of the Spring sunshine.
Yet
Inside me, the storm has found a haven.

Broke...
I received my measly $50 check from the RAMQ yesterday, and $57 and some change GST refund the day before that. About time I say! But the irony of it is that these checks were merely passing by on their way to the Remittance Center. The sad part though is that I desperately needed that money so I can refill my almost depleted supply of cleaning products and toiletries. But no, somehow, family comes first!
Everything is just too expensive these days, my bank account is now down to two digits and pay day is still a week away! Needless to say, I am freaking out!
Since we've started saving up for the up-coming wedding, we've been both contented with frozen dinners and left overs for lunch. Not much choice I guess since it's cramming time for us. We're still about 15 grand short! Thinking about this is constantly giving me sleepness nights which have turned me into a cranky biatch at work.
Deep inside I have to believe that it'll get better...somehow...
